"Marry Me, Please" finishes run on top of weekly TV charts


KBS drama "Marry Me, Please" ("All About Marriage") [KBS]

KBS weekend series "Marry Me, Please" ("All About Marriage") finished its run on top of the weekly TV charts during the third week of December, according to major research firms on Monday.

Data by Total National Media Research (TNmS) on Monday revealed that "Marry Me, Please" ("All About Marriage") scored an average viewership rating of 29.2 percent while recording a slightly higher rating mid-June.

Meanwhile, KBS' variety show "Happy Sunday" came in second place on TNmS' survey with an average rating of 26.6 percent but AGB reported that KBS' weekly drama "Smile, Dong-hae" was No. 2 with a mark of 28.8 percent.

Landing in third was SBS' romantic comedy "Secret Garden", starring Ha Ji-won and Hyeon Bin, with a mean score of 25.5 percent of TNmS' chart while AGB's poll showed that KBS' entertainment program "Happy Sunday" was the third most-watched show with a rating of 27.3 percent.

Lee Mi-yeon will act as 'Chebeol' leader.... coming back with drama 'Royal Family'


Actress Lee Mi-yeon is back on television by MBC new Wed-Thu drama 'Royal Family'.

Lee Mi-yeon who confirmed the power of woman with KBS drama 'Merchant Kim Man Deok', will act asa the main character in 'Royal Family', who becomes the head of a conglomerate after many happening.

An official said,"Right now, Lee Mi-yeon is casted as the main character. We are still at final modification stage. "Lee Mi-yeon is positively considering this opportunity.

'Royal Family', which reminds Takuya Kimura's 'Fancy Family', is about a female character who overcomes troubles and becomes the head of a conglomerate.

The script of 'Royal Family' is written by Kim Yeong-hyeon, who hitted 'Queen Seon-deok'.

On-set photos revealed from upcoming medical drama "Sign"

Several photos from upcoming SBS medical series "Sign", starring Park Shin-yang and Kim Ah-joong, have been revealed, according to producers Golden Thumb Pictures & Entertainment and Apollo Pictures on Wednesday.

The producers released several pictures from the set of "Sign" featuring main character Yoon Ji-hoon (played by Park) performing an autospy alongside Go Da-kyung (played by Kim).

"I was thinking how it was important not to lose focus and stray away from the tension as well as the character for the scene", Park was quoted as saying, adding that experts have helped him in order to make the scenes seem real as possible.

"Sign", helmed by famed producer Jang Hang-joon from movies "Break Out" and "Attack the Gas Station 2", is Korea's first medical drama on forensic scientists at a national institute for scientific institution.


Yoon and Go try to figure out who the killer is to crimes through hidden signs that are revealed with the autopsies.

The medical drama will begin its run on January 5 after current TV series "Daemul - Big Thing", starring Ko Hyeon-jeong and kwon Sang-woo ends its run.

Kim Hyun Joong to Appear in Cameo in 'Dream High'

Singer and actor Kim Hyun Joong (24) will make a cameo appearance in the KBS 2TV drama "Dream High," which will air from next January.




In the drama, which Bae Yong Joon and Park Jin Young co-produced, Kim Hyun Joong will play a star actor who is coming back to the country after conducting overseas activities.




Kim filmed the scene in which he met Bae Young Joon, who plays the chairman of the board of Kirin Art School, the best star training school, at the Incheon international airport on December 7. It was the first time that Kim Hyun Joong appeared in a scene together after Kim had transferred to Bae's agency, Keyeast. The production company of "Dream High" said, "Bae Yong Joon monitored Kim's acting and carefully provided advice about his acting. We had actually planned to film the scene without advance notice as we had worried that too many people might gather at the airport, but many fans were waiting at the airport from the early morning anyway and the entrance of the airport was almost blocked."

"Dream High," which will air its first episode on January 3, will portray the process of how students at Kirin Art School become world stars through constant challenges.

Jang Geun-seok and Moon Geun-yeong couple, who has the 'same age', has unusual mood between them


Demo video of upcoming drama from KBS 2TV, 'Mary Stayed Out All Night' was released; many pointed out that Jang Geun-seok and Moon Geun-yeong looked like a real couple.

Jang Geun-seok and Moon Geun-yeong showed a real couple-like image via a video clip of drama 'Mary Stayed Out All Night'. In the video, they were wandering around Hongdae while holding their hands just like a real couple.

Because of the fact that they acted their parts so beautifully, that scene almost felt unreal.

Especially, people pointed out the scene, where Jang Geun-seok plays his guitar and Moon Geun-yeong is taking his picture, was really natural. Most people left positive comment for this demo video.

Jang Geun-seok and Moon Geun-yeong also confessed that they decided to be friends when there was a meeting with all production members of 'Mary Stayed Out All Night'. They became friends real quick since they were both born in 1987, started from child acting, and loved the script of 'Mary Stayed Out All Night'.

One staff from this drama said, "I felt real deep friendship between them from their talking and mood. By showing a lovely image that which is lovelier than a real couple, even viewers who watch this drama will feel happiness.

Only by the fact that this drama is the combination of Jang Geun-seok and Moon Geun-yeong, it became a top ranker is many portal sites.

'Mary Stayed Out All Night', which will follow 'Sungkyunkwan Scandal', is a romantic comedy about marriage simulation of one girl and two boys. It will be on air on November 8th.

"Giant" beats out "Marry Me, Please" on weekly TV charts

The most-watched TV show in the country "Giant" [SBS]

SBS' Wednesday and Thursday drama "Giant" claimed its first win on weekly TV charts, beating out two-week winner "Marry Me, Please" ("All About Marriage") for the No. 1 spot.

Data by TNmS (Total National Multimedia Statistics) on Monday revealed that the Lee Beom-soo starrer was the No. 1 show in the country during the third week of October with viewership ratings of 25.7 percent.

KBS' weekend family drama "Marry Me, Please" came in second place with ratings of 23.9 percent followed by MBC's historical epic "Dong Yi" which posted ratings of 23.6 percent.

Meanwhile, AGB Nielsen Media Research reported that the new SBS Monday and Tuesday series "Daemul - Big Thing", starring Ko Hyeon-jeong and kwon sang-woo, was the most-watched show in the country with ratings of 26.3 percent.

"Marry Me, Please" was No. 2 on AGB's chart as well with viewership ratings of 26.2 percent and rounding out the top three was "Giant" with ratings of 25.9 percent.

Korean TV series "IRIS" to win honor at Japan drama fest

Korean TV series "IRIS" willl be receiving a special honor at a drama awards festival in Japan this month.

The show's producer Taewon Entertainment announced in a press release that "IRIS", which recorded viewership ratings of 10.1 percent for its premiere episode in Japan, will be honored with the foreign project award at the Tokyo Drama Awards 2010 to be held at the Meiji Memorial Hall on October 25.

Taewon also explained that Korean actor Lee Byeong-Heon, who played the male lead on the show, will be named as "Best Actor in Asia" at the ceremony.

"Lee's acting skills are incredible and "IRIS" has been distributed to numerous countries worldwide. Not only did the show post high ratings but Lee has received favorable reviews as well", an official from the event was quoted as saying.

"IRIS", which aired in Korea from October 2009 to December 2009, starred several of the biggest names in the entertainment industry including Lee Byeong-Heon, Kin Tae-hee, Jung Joon-ho, Kim so-yeon and Big Bang member T.O.P.

The action-packed espionage series dominated the primetime lineup during its run, scoring viewership ratings of nearly 40 percent.

The CEO of Taewon Entertainment and Lee Byeong-Heon will be in Japan to attend the Tokyo Drama Awards at the end of this month.
